Configuring XServer
Hello,
I have two problem when using my FreeBSD system. Can someone give me some idea? 1. When I logined as root and went to the /stand/sysinstall then run the XServer configuration, I was able to see graphic setup and all that, but when I exit, the system fail to write into the config files! I checked the files and it's belong to the root with group wheel, which is the default. So what's wrong? 2. When I logged into the system using a regular user, I can't start the XWindows using startx command. It says it fail to start Xserver. But if I logged in as root it works fine! why? Thanks. |

You need to use the Xwrapper script or xdm/kdm to start X as an ordinary user. Look at 11.10 here -> http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.IS...-X-SECURELEVELS
