Hello,
Is there a way I can find all orphaned ports on FreeBSD (by using portupgrade or not) ? By orphaned ports I mean ports that are not used by any other ports (though they may be used by users, in which case it's up to me to decide wether to delete them). Thank you. Nicolas |

Have a look at pkg_cutleaves. pkg_cutleaves will show you all ports that have no other dependencies and offer you the choice to remove them.
Isn't this you asking the same question on the freebsd-questions mailing list yesterday?: http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=fre...58760514632&w=2

Exactly
pkg_rmleaves also performs this task, but with a pretty ncurses interface... very nice
,...but alas, you must know your ports well, for the author has of yet neglected to integrate a view of pkg-descr. pkg_rmleaves can also be found in /usr/ports/sysutils. -Steven Last edited by stevengs : March 2nd, 2005 at 10:15 AM. |
