Free Bsd device namings
I haven't used Free BSD for years.
Could anyone tell me if following device namings are still used on the latest Free BSD (pls apply correction when applicable) -> /dev/ad0->1st hard drive on IDE1 /dev/ad0a->1st partition of 1st hard drive on iDE1 /dev/ad0b->2nd partition of 1st hard drive on IDE1 /dev/ad1->1st hard drive on IDE2 /dev/ad1a->1st partition of 1st hard drive on IDE2 /dev/ad1b->2ndst partition of 1st hard drive on IDE2 /dev/rfd0 ->floppy drive /dev/cd0a -> cdrom COM1(/dev/sio0); com2(/dev/sio1); com3(/dev/sio2) |

on 5.1 (which I'm using) (this is from memory. . i'm not at my machine right now..)
/dev/ad0->1st hard drive on IDE1 /dev/ad0s1->1st partition of 1st hard drive on iDE1 /dev/ad0s2->2nd partition of 1st hard drive on IDE1 /dev/ad1->1st hard drive on IDE2 /dev/ad1s1->1st partition of 1st hard drive on IDE2 /dev/ad1s2->2ndst partition of 1st hard drive on IDE2 ?????? ->floppy drive ????? -> cdrom (this one is different from what yuo havae, but i can't remember right nwo what it is) |
