    Question FreeBSD 7.2 RC1 - A4tech X7 mouse

    I'm neewbe in FreeBSD.

    I have an A4tech X7 laser mouse + FreeBSD 7.2 RC1 + Gnome
    Connection: USB , cable

    My problem:
    In character mode i can move the mouse pointer normally, but in graphical mode not work.

    Here is parts of my important config files:
    rc.conf
    moused_enable="YES"
    moused_type="/dev/ums0"
    moused_flags=""
    moused_type="auto"
    usbd_enable="YES"
    usbd_flags=""

    xorg.conf
    Section "InputDevice"
    Identifier "Mouse0"
    Driver "mouse"
    Option "Protocol" "auto"
    Option "Device" "/dev/sysmouse"
    Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5 6 7"
    EndSection

    I'm sure the problem is in the xorg.conf file.

    Do you have any idea someone?
    Thx: gyopar

    I had the same problem with 7.2-RELEASE, the cursor was moving in text mode but not in X.

    I solved it by turning on NumLock BEFORE starting X. You can install the program 'x11/numlockx' and add the following at the beginning of your .xinitrc:

    /usr/local/bin/numlockx on

    Thx.

    I tried it, but unfortunately didn't work.
    I think waiting for the 8.0 version.

    One more times: thank you for your answer.

    I tried 8.0-CURRENT and the problem still persists.
    Though the cursor is moving in 7.2 after turning on NumLock, many programs crash, so the system is almost unusable. This is not what I call high quality software...
    If someone knows of a better solution, please let us know.

    Thanks in advance.

    I agree with You.
    Sent before you this error across FreeBSD bugreport??

    Maybe the error are in X11 system and this is not FreeBSD problem. I think that because USB function working good when I connect and disconnect my mouse.

    I'm sorry because the BSD system very sympathetic for me and develop dynamically.
