Exclamation FreeBSD / compat/linux problem ??

Hey guys..
I purchased a copy of BRU v15.1 from estinc a couple of years ago..

Anyway.. its been working perfectly all this time, up until now.. we’ve run into a strange problem we’re hoping someone can shed some light on..

We used to run a bunch of Slackware machines, but recently have been migrating them across to FreeBSD..

The problem we are having now, is that BRU whilst backing up, it appears that the bru app sees / is actually in the compat/linux/ directory instead of the real / directory..

which means that it only backs up the /compat/linux/etc folder for example (which is useless), and dosent do the /etc folder..

can anyone think of a way around this ?

Steve

IIRC there's a BRU edition for the BSDs. You might want to see if the manufacturer is willing to give you a discount seeing that you already own one version of the product.

Yeah I know there is a new version that supports FreeBSD.. but at $999USD... i was hoping someone might know how to get around this 'virtual root' directory issue ?

yeah looked into mounting it as NFS, (pretty ugly solution though)..

Im going to have to bite the bullet i think and upgrade to the new version... unfortunate, but since its mission critical i dont think ive really got an option...

Thanks for your help though!
