It seems that I am at war with that box. I did what you said to do and I get more errors. Should I just reformat and start ALL over? Anyway, what does this error mean?

Did you try a "make clean" in /usr/ports yet?

Also, please attach the output of "pkg_info" so we can look for conflicting packages that the ports system did not find by itself.

I'm having the same problem. The issue appears to be with x11/XFree86-4-libraries. I'm receiving the same error. I am using FreeBSD 4.9 but have installed XFree86-4 on a 5.1 and 5.2.1 system in the past.

Here's the list from pgk_info:
