I'm about to install FreeBSD but the partition i'm going to install to is on my second hard drive (not my main one). Will this cause any problems ? ie. can I still use a bootloader or should I create a boot disk ?

No, this is actually a better setup that sharing partitions on the main drive. My system has Windows XP on the primary and UNIX distros on the secondary. It doesn't matter that I rarely use the primary, it just makes the installation soo much easier. ![]() >can I still use a bootloader or should I create a boot disk ? Of course, but be sure to use a boot manager so that you can boot into the primary drive when you need to. If you don't already have a multiboot system going you can select the option to install one during the installation. |
