freebsd & qmail
I have qmail installed on my server and I have installed tcpserver to secure smtp via the RELAYCLIENT= variable.
my problem is that the system is still not allowing me nor my customers to send out email via outlook. am i missing something? ![]() |

You're missing several hundred things... You haven't told us a thing yet, so we can't really help you.
If it doesn't work in outlook, who cares? But if it in itself doesn't work, THAT is a problem. Try testing it from the command line, that will tell you where your going wrong... Have you enabled relaying for outside IP addresses?

Excuse me but I am new at this,
I get this error message: "553, sorry that domain isn't in the list of my allowed rcpthosts..." only the domain name that i am sending to is not in the rcpthosts file. my clients use outlook so they care its not working. the system work via webmail using "UebiMiau" but not outlook. How do i enabled relaying for outside IP addresses? |

Err, sorry for my rudeness...
I see you are new. Shouldn't you add the domain name to rcpthosts file? That would sound like the logical solution, if the file governs which hosts can receive mail from your server, but I don't work with qmail, so I don't know. If that doesn't work, try disabling tcpserver. |
