FreeBSD5.2.1 NAT Internet Sharing on SpeedTouch530
I've been tackling this problem on my own for several months now, and well I've learn't HEAPS but, I'm ready for lots of help. So if can borrow your time to figure this one out, which would be great.
The Basics (What My setup is) > Internet > Thompson Speed Touch 530 ADSL Modem FreeBSD 5.2.1 > Realtek rl1 : DHCP (Normally 10.0.0.1 as set by the modem) NAT to > Realtek 4 Port Hub Card rl0 : 192.168.0.1 > Windows XP Desktop & Windows XP Laptop & and what eva else (at the moment only static IP's will soon DHCPD) Now where I'm up to is from the laptop I can ping itself 192.168.0.2 and can ping the servers internal network 192.168.0.1, I can also ping the external network 10.0.0.1. But I can NOT ping 10.0.0.138 to default gateway for the modem, And/Or the internet i.e. Google (Can find Host - No DNS error) Everything config file and display are found Here. Anything else you need to see just post here and i'll add it. I've read everything I can find and well, I'm unsure why i seem to get to this point every time. I'm thinking the natd isn't working but why can I see rl1. These modems are smart cos the ip's it gives out can't see each other i.e. file and printer sharing between 10...2 and 10...3 can't be done (but I can't see it to be that) I'm nearly thinking to hack the modem and change it to do what I want to do. Hopefully you can help me before that stage. ![]() Thankz heaps for your help. |
