help for a desperate newb!
ok i just installed FreeBSD 4.8 on a computer i had lying around and it was working ok but then when i tried to set up KDE's xdm (kdm) i think i must have configured the login manager wrong because i cant login through the kdm and therefore i can log in to BSD at all?!
please can someone help me out cos i really dont want to have to install the whol OS again... cheers ![]() |

Press ctrl-alt-F1 to get a text console. I hope you can remember you root password? Then you can start /stand/sysinstall and you get the configuration program that was used during installation too. There you can add users and such.
