Ever heard of FTP?
... or you can always use Lynx.

or wget if it is installed
(but of course, FTP should be your first choice of weapons, as jharnois pointed out) -Steven __________________ My mother told me to stand up to homicidal maniacs. –Baldrick Yes, if this is the same mother who confidently claimed that you are a tall handsome stallion of a man, I should treat her opinions with extreme caution. –Edmund Black Adder |

The simplest way to locate mirror sites is directly on the perl and php websites. You will assuredly find the mirror sites for ftp and http somewhere in the download area, depending on what type of files you are looking for.

So your problem isn't that you don't know how to do it, but you don't know where to find them? Your initial post doesn't suggest this at all, and now this thread is no longer a FreeBSD problem. Please take the time to think about your post before you make it so that you can get it in the right forum and so we're not wasting our time giving you information you already have.

it is bsd related because I am using it to get those files.
you are not bsd GOD so dont make decisions for other people as to what topic they should get into. if I used windows I would go to windows... I dont want to go to ftp areas because they will have no idea about freebsd. capich?? |

Cool it lean4huskytop. You could easily make a post in the PHP and/or perl forums asking where to get the latest mod_php or mod_perl versions.

Dude, why do you always react in this manner to criticism?
No matter how much we try to help you, you always lash out at us when we try to explain to you the best way to frame your questions so that you can get the best answers fast. I am an big FreeBSD fan, and I give new users any help I can, just because FreeBSD is so much fun. When a newbie seeking help goes off I usually give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe they are just havin' a bad day..., but you have been extremely discourteous on several occasions, towards different users and moderators with little or no reason. Do you feel that we are somehow your enemies? Do you have some other sort of issues? -Steven |

Now, if you had said you could find sources for all other operating systems except FreeBSD, then I could see how you would consider a FreeBSD problem. But if that's the case, you failed to mention that. Quote:

you make no sense.
if I had windows why would I want to ftp to freeBSD??? your logic is a bit skewed... but its okey - your recent promotion to Mod has really gotten to your ego and I am not lashing out - its how i am....I obviously am impatient and dont like when out of 3 answers to my questions, 2 are about being in the wrong forum and 1 is vageuly relevant |
