How to unbzip2 files on FreeBSD

I have recently changed my server hosting arrangements and moved from a Red Hat Linux to FreeBSD environment.

I have almost 100Mb of files compressed with bzip2 and can't find a FreeBSD version to decompress them with!?

I followed the links from the bzip2 page for FreeBSD but got no source code!?

Any help would be greatfully appreciated.

bzip2 comes with FreeBSD by default for a while. What version are you running? If you can't find bzip2, you can install it via /usr/ports/archivers/bzip2.

Smile

freebsd,

many thanks for the tip. BTW: i seem to have got myself caught out with the download link from the ports page on freebsd.org.

The download link takes me to an ftp directory containing no source code, being new to FreeBSD I would appreciate the pointer.

Many thanks once again.

Robert.
