i screwed up custom kernel... help please!
I thought (key word) i sort of knew what i was doing but i messed up my kernel and when i rebooted it's hanging where it's setting hostname, i was changing the port of my nic and did something wrong??? i'm at the 'ok' prompt before it goes through the rest of the install and can't figure out the right syntax to have it boot my GENERIC kernel, instead of my GENERIC1... i tried...
load /usr/src/sys/i386/conf/GENERIC
but it says 'can't find GENERIC'
help please!!!!
terry
never mind... after searching docs i found out that i could boot -c and disable the nic... damn freebsd is nice!!!
