Installing FreeBSD on system with raid - simple question really
This is my first post here for a while but I'll keep it short.
Quite simply I want to install freebsd on a raid array and have a simple question just to put me at ease.
I have 3 HDD's inside, 2 of which are setup for raid mirroring. Anyway at the install screen it shows me four possible devices to install on.
ad0 = 120gb
ad10 = 80gb
ad8 = 80gb
ar0 = the array of ad10 and ad8 presumably?
I presume I should choose ar0 as the device to install on but I'm not sure and don't want to mess things up which could result in reformatting and setting the array up again.
So the question is, Should I choose to install on ar0?
Like I say, I'm pretty sure of the answer but to put my mind at ease (and possibly save time) could someone please enlighten me?
A speedy reply would be great since I'm staring at sysinstall as I type, although a late reply is better than none. In either case I appreciate it.
