Mystery of boot time postfix (FreeBSD 6.1)
I am building a new system with FreeBSD 6.1. I installed several ports, including postfix. As a final step I added "enable_postfix="YES" to /etc/rc.conf.
Then I noticed a boot time error indicating that postfix was already running. So I removed the rc.conf entry and restarted. Sure enough, postfix is starting at boot time. There is no postfix script in /etc/rc.d ?!!! I want to understand where postfix is being started. ps. inetd is disabled on this system.

How about '/usr/local/etc/rc.d'? That is where it is located on the one machine I checked (6.1 FreeBSD).
