OpenBSD3.4: how to update old apache in chrooted to apache1.3.29 chroot

Hi all,

I have an OpenBSD 3.4 and I have a apache1.3.28 running in chroot environment, my question is how should I update apache to apache1.3.29 while maintaining the chroot? and not end up with 2 different versions of apache or files.

Are these the correct steps?

in tmp directory I do this
tar xzpf httpd-1.3.29.tar.gz
cd httpd*
./configure --with-layout=OpenBSD
make
make install
apachectl restart

Please let me know if these are correct or wrong

thank you

Next time you start a new topic, shorten the subject title, your OpenBSD3.4: how to update old apache in chrooted to apache1.3.29 chroot is way too long.

Upgrade to 3.4-current

/tmp is reversed for system use, not for end users. Do not place anything to /tmp by hand.

Do not try to compile apache by hand and retain the chroot setting. Apache in OpenBSD is highly patched.

Read the instructions carefully from top to bottom before proceeding and make sure you understand the instructions. If you're new at this, try doing it on a non-production machine first.
