    Package Installation

How can I install a package when the network is not cooperating? I issue the command
    PHP Code:
    sudo pkg_add -r git
    and I receive
Error: Unable to get ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/i386/packages-8.2-release/Latest/git.tbz: Connection reset by peer pkg_add:
unable to fetch 'ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/i386/packages-8.2-release/Latest/git.tbz' by URL
Can I install this package some other way?

Do you have the install package downloaded on another media (such as a CD-ROM or USB key). If not, you could go to another computer that has an internet connection enabled, grab the package and transfer it to a CD or USB key.

Then plug in the media to your freebsd box and mount it (I'm assuming it is mounted on /mnt/cdrom here)

Then, you can install it with:
    cd /mnt/cdrom
    sudo pkg_add git.tbz

    Hope this helps.
