sio 2/3 (com 3/4) on FreeBSD 5.X
I'm trying to get my modem to work on my 5.2.1 install.
My modem is on com 4, however by default only com 1 and 2 are active. I've removed the corrosponding disabled lines /boot/devices.hints. I also rebuild the kernel with options COM_MULTIPORT When the system reboots it gives a message that says: IRQ 5 not in bitmap is scanned IRQ's 0 or something to that nature. Does anyone know how you enable your com 3 and 4 under 5.X systems? (fyi, it's not the same as 4.X). |

I upgraded to 5.3, still have the same problem.
Have been playing with flags in device.hints with no luck. Anyone have any information? |

What kind of port is this? "COM4" is a windows name, this doesn't help here.
- is it onboard? (I guess no) - what kind of card is it on? - what kind of UART is it? A 16550 or something special? - it is not a pci modem I hope... M.
