I tryed playing a mp3 and didn't hear anything.

I've got a Creative SoundBlaster Extigy (external)

My Aureal 3D Vortex 2 card from circa 1999 still doesn't work.....good luck, at least Creative is still in business...

try

kldload snd_sbc.ko
try some other modules. Maybe you'll find the right one ( the way I've done ).
