ssh openbsd to windows xp
is it possible to ssh into a windows xp machine from my recently setup openbsd 3.6 box? i want to get access to a windows xp machine so that i can retrieve files. how do i go about doing this? what do both machines require?

Not unless your windows server is running sshd (i.e. the SSH server daemon).
I'd use sftp to transfer the files like this: 1. Download PSFTP onto the Windows machine. Google for it. 2. Use psftp to connect to the openbsd box (since that is running sshd) 3. Use psftp to transfer the files from the windows machine to the openbsd box. Does that work for you?
