>> How often update src?
Maybe every 4 months. That is, only when you need to upgrade your branch. Say there is an exploit and your src needs to be patched, you don't need to cvsup your entire src, instead, you can simply apply the patch and rebuild that binary. >> is the process as long as the install? cvsup alone shouldn't be too long (even on dailup). Buildworld could take 10 times longer than a initial install (from binary). >> now I want to update my mesa and xfree Check here -> http://www.onlamp.com/pub/a/bsd/200...ry_Daemons.html |

yeah I used cvsup static no gui
cause could not get the other one at the time which is faster I think but using the static it took 6+ hours for everything but the other one i used was fast. 10 times longer woo! so whats up with the people who are supping everyday are they constantly compiling none stop? or are you guys just keeping mirror close by? |
