/var: filesystem full
Hi,
I run FreeBSD 6. When I start - boot up machine I cannot get to login. As I followed the screen upon botup - programs get loaded, login apperars and then screen starts runing the following over and over(line after line) mymachine kernel: pid 17.. (mysqld), uid 88, number 16.. on /var: filesystem full mymachine kernel: pid 17.. (mysqld), uid 88, number 16.. on /var: filesystem full I rebooted machine couple of times but it happens every time after reboot. My question is: How do I stop it? How can I get to shell so that I can stop mysqld daemon and clear /var ? Thank you. |

You should just be able to log in anyway. The text that appears on the screen isn't being typed to the username/password prompt, and while it might make it difficult to see what you're typing, just be a bit more careful.
Then you can shutdown mysql in your preferred way and set about clearing out /var
