    FreeBSD Help!


    Is there a way to get to a gui, windows system, or desktop
    if FreeBSD 6.0 from the command line after installing

    startx (in previous version), provided X Windows is properly configured.

    You can also enable things like kdm that will give you a graphical login screen, if you so desire. Also, to choose your environment, you may have to use the full path. Instead of

    startx startkde

    you may have to do

    startx /usr/local/bin/startkde
