I installed FreeBSD 6.2 and during installation I selected
automatic DHCP - meaning I got almost all ip fields filled out.
I would like to change one of them.
Instead of dynamic ip I would like to have 192.168.0.50
How do I go about it?
Where is the conf file to accomplish it?

You need to edit /etc/rc.conf and set it up there. See section 11.8.2 here.
You might also want to add a defaultrouter= line here to set the default route. See man 5 rc.conf for more information on what to set for defaultrouter=
