Are ebooks the way to go?

We house webinars for all home based businesses. Every month we field tons of requests for the workshops (read: transcipts) by those who did not attend.

We're considering offering ebooks with the full (plus extra) informational transcript after seminar end every month.

Are ebooks our best bet or is there another medium we might consider to offer up one, a bunch, or bundled workshops for easy purchase?

Help appreciated.

ebooks - security and multiple downloads

Hi,

I'm interested in this area too.
On Jan21st ,I posted my first msg in the development software forum and now I am wondering whether ebooks might possibly provide me with some of the aspects I am looking for. I'm re-posting it here.

My idea
------------
I want to set up a website ,(separate to my existing biz and website) which is a useful 'how to' review/guide.
This consists of info which is all available in the public domain,(so there is no issue of copyright infringement) , but the way in which I intend to collate and offer people a thorough step-by-step review of info is special.Ideally,I would like to get people to pay for this info, either by subscribing to a specific segment or the site as a whole, and similarly offer advertising to relevant parties who would benefit from having these interested people get in contact with them.

Problem
---------
My main concern is that, if I allow people to access this info ,it will get 'knocked off' by other people who will simply steal the info and create either the same/very similar format to myself, using the info i have collated which will result in my info being devalued because it has been copied.

What EBooks have done
--------------------

I typed ebooks into google and #1 is
http://usa1.ebooks.com

On their FAQ page, they explain how they explain a couple of interesting points>

Can I print and copy my eBooks?
Only Adobe format eBooks enable printing. In addition, eBooks have security settings that may prevent printing and copying of some Adobe titles. These are set by the Publisher and vary from book to book. You can view the security settings for each title by clicking the "Buy eBook" link on the eBook Details page. For information on how to print an Adobe eBook, check our Printing page. ^top

Once I have purchased my eBook, will it always be available?
Yes, once you have purchased the eBook it is yours. The title is stored on your eBooks.com account and you can access it at any time by logging in with your username and password. Most formats allow you to download the title as many times as you like however, Adobe format eBooks have a license which enables you to download three times. If you need to download your eBook again and you are receiving an error message indicating that you have used all of your licenses, please contact our Support Staff who will be happy to reset this license for you. ^top

How can I go about getting a similar (same?) kind of set-up to allow for the following>
1/printing ok
2/download 3x only
3/restricted use for single user?

Any help /top tips would be appreciated
thanks,

BingoStarr

You should check Digital Editions from Adobe and publish things in epub format. Go check the Adobe site, it works pretty ok with pdf, xhtml and flash
