Basic deal mechanics/setup
Hi
I'm starting developing sites etc and wondered which basic payment method was best: 1. Request a percentage up front and balance on completion 2. Request full payment up front. Then of course what to do if you get a client that wants to screw around even though you have completed the job and done your best. I suspect a whole site could be devoted this topic but would still appreciate any advice or contrib. Cheers jac |

Option 1 is more viable. You would normally want to go with 50% advance and rest on completion. Now the client will only be willing to pay 50% if you can back your word - reliability. If you are worried of client not paying you, do a contractual agreement. Do a search on this forum, I posted a word doc few months back. Its a template file for web design agreement. Rest all - business is always a risk but you can always risk it safe - good luck.
