Why not? If people respect what you have to say they will promot you, if they don't they will vilify you, but that is no different than if you have twenty PhDs.

BTW, what topic(s) are you interested in? I have a bit of a biotech background myself.

Thanks mitakeet,
I'm interested in ai applications of bio-informatics to be accurate, starting from Modeling (bayesian, markov chain, monte carlo models) to Evolutionary algorithms (genetic, evolutionary, bayesian algorithms) and Data mining and soft computing ( fuzzy logic, sequence analysis, information retrieval, microarrays, neural networks...) though what's interesting is that most topics are related strongly to each other, so whenever I get a little bit here and I got some over there

also I like to read on topics like nano-technology, molucular manufacturing, nanomedicine, nanorobotics and stuff like that but afterall still on my way learning as much as I can

what about you, what topics interests you?

No one can know everything about everything which is why we have so many 'experts'. If someone can contribute to the community, their credentials should be irrelevant.
