Can legally display album covers on the web?
I was looking through several fansites and I noticed that none of the websites feature album covers on their website. Is this because they are legally not allowed?

Album covers are artworks, and the right to display these works of art is covered by copyright.
copyright.gov You may license the right to display them. You may be able to secure the right to display them from the record label or distributor for promotional purposes (e.g. for sales as on amazon). Last edited by medialint : July 3rd, 2004 at 12:31 PM. |
