How to start up a business?
Ok, ive started up a forum posting service and I was just wondering whether anyone could offer any ideas of how to get it noticed and out there with all the other sites?
I am currently paying a decent amount of money per month for advertising on forums and websites, and the results vary. I was just wondering whether there are any other methods to get your site noticed? |

What is your business plan? You sound like you've already started the business but you don't know how/haven't defined your objectives. What country are you setting the business in?

I would highly recommend writing a business plan. It is difficult to try random marketing activities and have it be successful.
You need to define what you do, who you want to attract (who is your best customer?) and then do research to find out where your target segment is online. The other thing that is important is to have some way to measure "success" of a marketing campaign - so you can figure out if it worked or not. Success for some may be increased web traffic, it may be email inquiries, it may be sales...etc. You have to define and measure it and be consistent so that you can compare your marketing campaigns so you can get smarter and optimize. |
