I have noticed that someone has placed my prices on their website. Next to that he has said that his prices are cheaper than mine. I am trying to do the right thing by everyone and now he has done that. It feels not right to do that. What I am angry about is that he believes that he has the right to display them. Does he have the right? I hope not.

That's legal in the UK AFAIK.

i am no lawyer, but what's the big deal? are your prices unreasonable? can your competitor offer comparable service at a cheaper rate? welcome to business.
i know this isn't what you are looking for, but i noticed you posted your prices on your website.... as in on the internet... besides, it's free advertising for you. provide a better service!

It's legal. Most companies generally compare prices of competitors before coming to a final decision on what they want to offer the same products / services for. To display them is not illegal, as long as the information being displayed is correct.

And if the information is real, your next important question is this:
What are you going to do about it? And that's not a question for your lawyer. It's a question about whether you're going to compete exclusively on price or do something to convince prospective customers that your higher price is actually the better deal.

Here's what you should do,
You also make a price comparison chart and reduce your price and compare it with his so you will be the winner And if u want u can sue him, coz he's displaying the wrong pricing as you have reduced it ![]() |

Thanks everyone for your advice. I am over it now and have placed this on my new website: Award winning websites get results so please don't go for the cheaper, inexperienced options. Cheaper, inexperienced options could result in failure of your business.

Quote:
Almost good. Except that most potential clients aren't looking for "award winning websites". They are looking to get their message out more effectively and more enticingly than their competition. That doesn't have anything to do with awards. And not having an award winning site isn't going to cause business failure. You're on the right track, but you need to think about your client's fears and hopes and re-write it to play on both a little better. |

The obvious question is ...
What award did you win?
