is it illegal for me to download a free wallpaper off of a website and then use it on my own website? if that is not is it illegal to erase the address of that site and then putting mine on it? here is what i did:
i downloaded a wallpaper from panthers.com . i used photoshop to cut the image down to the size i wanted. at the top of the image the site address "www.panthers.com" was there. i blacked that out and put my site. i think this is all illegal but i want to make sure |

Email them and ask for permission to use their image.

one more question on legality: if i put a link to another website, but put it in a frame so they can come to mine easily is that legal?
scenario: i put a link to panthers.com on their stats page because i can't update stats constantly. if i put it in an iframe so that the users can just go straight back to my site at any point, is that legal? |

It's legal, but some people, myself included, find it very annoying when a site creates a frame to keep itself in the browser when you click out of a website. For example, Rotten Tomatoes does that, and I hate it. If you're going to link off site, just do it. Nothing is more annoying than getting trapped in a frame when you don't want to go back to the original site. That's what the back button and browsing hisory are for.

On top of their massive popup ads, of course. after using their site once, I SWORE never to visit them again. when I search rare movies their site usually comes up first, but I always boycott them. So yes, I pretty much hate it too. |
