Question Just looking for advice.

Hey, my bro wants to start up a new web site.
Kinda like a dating site.
He knows nothing about how it could all work., and i know
barely anything more.
Just wondering if someone had some time to talk about it and possibly point me in the right direction.
Things like., how many pages the web site might Have to be?
Maybe a good place to get it designed?
How easy is it to maintain? And change(if need be)?
Kinda just throwing this off the top of my head, didn't think about it before i started the post.
Maybe you know other questions i should ask as well?
Any help would be very appreciated.

Thanks!

I would suggest to prepare a business plan first, I hope this link might help you to get some idea about online business. onlinebusiness.about.com/od/startingup/Starting_Your_Online_Business.htm

I suggest getting a free or cheap hosting site that lets you use ASP or PHP, and start learning one of those environments. Get a cheap (used) book or two on creating dynamic web pages, and on HTML. Start making some very simple test pages and have some fun with it.

If you can get something (almost anything) to work, you probably can keep it up and learn how to do all the things you are going to need to be able to do. If not, then perhaps you should read some books on internet businesses, and see if you can set up a little store or something at a "generic" store site to start getting your feet wet. If things start making sense - then maybe you can start thinking seriously about your ideas (or your brothers...).
