I am preparing my first resume to enter the world of Web Developers ... looking at some templates for resumes there seems to always be a section for Professional Memberships ... i am unsure where to start looking.

i have found heaps of IT based ones (that have been recommended to me) ... but none specifically for web design and development.

i am Australian based, but obviously i can be a member of an international membership base.

are any of you a member of any organisation in relation to web design or development ... can you point me in the right direction??

any help would be most appreciated.

thanks
shelle

Their site states that there are 2050 Zend Certified Engineers. This does not sound like a very popular or well seen certification. The close to 100 EUR fee you have to pay for the exam is not that much but still, why pay for something unuseful.

But maybe I'm getting it all wrong. Somebody?

I recently took up a new web development career.
And I am from Sydney Australia coincidently.

When I was first looking for a job I went to a recruitment
agency. They told me I needed to have a portfolio of already
developed sites. And post pictures in my resume; and of course
urls to those sites. A picture is worth a thousand words so to say.

Even if you develop your own websites or work on some charity
websites to give yourself a starting point.

Anyone can write a resume.
It's experience and qualifications that seal the deal.
Show you can develop good sites; someone will give you a go.
