Merchant accounts and selling on the internet

Im posting on this forums because it is the one with the most traffic usually and because no other category matches my question.

Im looking for online credit card transaction services, merchant accounts, payment gateways etc. Basically to sell stuff on the internet. I know that theres google and that I can find toooons of results on this topic. But If you have experience in this area, Can you tell reccomend me a company that offers good prices and also administration tools? Service is also a big plus. What exactly do I need as far as security to sell online in realtime, thanks.

Moved from PHP Development to Business Help, as I expect you'll get better merchant-related help here.

how big of sales are these, people use paypal all the time for ebay purchases which sometimes go into the thousands

theres also goodasgold (goodasgold.com ?) google it.
right now i only use paypal and check through snailmail for my personal business. im considering also using goodasgold just i dont like how the system works thats why ive been deciding against it (go to the site and it explains the system)

I was looking for a way to process payments about a month ago. I found www.cardservicesales.com and they had the best prices and gave me a decent rate of 2.19% and charge per transaction, using the Linkpoint gateway. If that's the stuff your looking for, check them out.

Assuming you are in EU, if you need minimal transaction fees and clean interface you can check it with chronopay.com, if your business is located some where in US and other countries 2checkout and Paypal might be a better option.

Merchat account with good service

Try calling Signature Card Services, they have several options for gateways, very good customer service, their number is 888-334-2284. Low risk accounts are 2.35%, .20 cents, $10 monthly statement, $25 minimum.
