I think you would find it quite difficult to open a US Bank Account especially under current terrorist conditions in the global world. Security is at it's peak and such things as Bank accounts are coming under extreme scrutiny.

Not being american myself, I am basing these opinions upon my own general knowledge of the system as a whole, especially here in the UK where I have first hand experience of foriegn nationals applying for accounts here. I would imagine you would be required to have a valid US address along with which you would likely require proof of residence in the US and more than likely a Tax ID although I forget the american term for this.

Well, PayPal works with numerous countries. This also applies with MoneyBookers, and several other accounts.

In terms of the actual bank account, you may use your international bank accounts.

Red face us bank account for non residents

It's possible to open a USA bank account even by not going there if you incorporate. A complete guide to this is found here:

If finding an American bank is difficult, what about investigating if any of your Indian banks has offices in the US?

You also might check out etrade.com now - when this was posted, valis was helping and now they are having problems with that.

And sberg makes a good point - a lot of our clients have actually had success in this as well. It helps to satisfy the YKYC (you know your customer) regulation

Thumbs up Open a US bank account and get a US merchant account

Hi,

I understand that non-US residents have problems in order to open a US bank account or to start a US merchant account.

I strongly recommend http://www.online-private-club.com

They are a very reliable company and they will offer to legitimate clients, even if they are non-US residents, the best service. You will be amazed how much professional and reliable they are.

I don't have a citi or hsbc account. Do they provide an account in their us branches if I open an account with them??? Any special formalities for that.
