Hi,
to cut short the process, you can try using (URL address blocked: See forum rules) or paypal.com to accept credit cards. They however charge a commission on every transaction, but your setup will be just as easy as copy and paste code. |

You can use a Payment gateway but you usually need a Merchant Account.
Here's a UK based one: http://www.protx.com

You can use a merchant account with an electronic payment gateway (LinkPoint, Payflow, Authorize.net) or a third party processor (Paypal, CCNow, CCAvenue) or a service like 2CO - which works similar to a third party processor.
Having one of these accounts is usually dependent first on your location. Unfortunately I am a bit geographically challenged but I would suggest CCNow or CCAvenue if Paypal, WorldPay, or 2Co cannot support your country. Usually with a third party processor, the customer is directed over to the third party's secure website to complete the transaction. With a merchant account / electronic payment gateway, most gateways will provide an API and a secure site to process the transaction

Actually I am a bit confuse in between merchant account and third party processor.
They both take credit card payments right? So what is the difference in between it. I have asked some payment gateways company like Paypal and 2Co which they can only provide the payment solution but no merchant account. Some can have options for me in both such as Worldpay and PaymentAsia Is that just the price difference or technology difference? ![]() |

Quote:
A true merchant account is your merchant account. You have full control over it and you are responsible for it. A third party processor shares their merchant account with you and you have to obey their rules. The article Merchant Account Comparison compares a true merchant account to third party processors and covers that question in great detail. |
