I really want to have scripting capabilities in PS. Ahhh, an odd world. I wish there was a Photoshop OCX(*) for some mid-range $xxx so I could script it from PHP or whatever....
Well, PSP is somewhere in between.

Well, I'll stick with $$PS. Poster size is only a minor issue. Is PSP free now? I'd rather spend $600 on Photoshop than $130 on PSP. But hey, I'm one of these "professional PS'ers" although my graphic skills are close to zero...

Once you learn to use GIMP effectively it can do almost everything Photoshop can (at least from mine and my brother's experiences with it).

Maybe I don't know GIMP well enough, but show me the equivalent of:
- I create a Text layer
- I edit the text of the layer later
- I add some drop-shadow effects
- The effect stays there after I altered the text
- I am adding a 3D projection of this text layer
- the 3D projection is automatically updated once I alter the text
- I add some gradient to the text for an effect
- The effect stays there after I altered the text

... or is it me not knowing THE GIMP yet?

My point is:
Being a graphics artist (what I am certainly not), you need a flexible software where you're able to correct your previous ideas later. GIMP is made by programmers for programmers. But no "artist" will ever get along with it. You have to know what you're doing. Graphics artists are lead by emotion, not prediction. This is incompatible with what the GIMP's based upon.

As long as we're going the Photoshop route does anyone else remember haloII ? It was created back in the day as a pre-windows paint type program, I had hours of fun with it as a kid.

All opinions herein shall have no bearing in any court/trial in the United States of America, Angolia, or any other nation on Earth, Mars, Earth's moon, or Venus.

Pirating is just sort a slap in the face to the greedy corporate leaders showing that their 'minions' have intelligence and can do better.

Sure, go ahead, put a price of $16 on one CD that took less than $0.50 to make. We just won't pay for it. It's rediculous that music companies expect us to shove our hard earned money so they can sip their expensive wine. The music stars themselves get very little of the money - most of your $16+ goes right to the record company. The RIAA is sueing people because what doesn't go to the record companies goes to them for royalties - and what doesn't go to them for royalties goes to the music stars themselves.

Yes, I've taken a few, but most the time I have bought the CD once I heard the song. If I didn't, I probably lost the song anyway . And when I do (my music is generally out of style), I go to some cheap music store and get it. I don't have much money to start with.

Software pirating is common for the same reasons. Why should I pay $50 to play a game and have no guarantee that I'll like it? If I pay $50 for a dinner, it better be a big *** dinner, and it better taste like it was made by a chef who went to college for 10 years. Otherwise, it wasn't worth it.

Some games actually are worth that $50. But that list is very few. Halo is definetly one of them - people can develop emotional attachments to it. Great storyline. Real-life(sort of) soldiers. And it makes you care for the soldiers you have with you. When a game can do that - it's worth $50.

But for a disaster like Kohan Immortal Sovereigns - then you've robbed me.

The only time I've pirated software is when the game was expensive. I wasn't going to dish out my meager allowance without knowing I was going to get my play on for awhile. After testing it a bit, I go out and buy it. I tested GTAVC (ripped), and I loved it. I bought that game and I still leave it in its' case. Which I don't do very often.

Pirating is not morally wrong. It's only morally wrong to greedy corporate leaders and the RIAA.
