Pictures
Thanks for taking the time to read my question.
Not sure if this is the right forum (if not, please direct me to the right one), but I want to put pictures of people on my page. I'd like something that looks professional. I'm guessing you can purchase these somewhere...? Where are good places to do that? Are there other free ways? Thanks again, Brad |

Be careful, this goes beyond copyright. You need a model release form! If you have someone's mug on your page that person can sue you for all sorts of things. Not least of which if this happens to be a website of questionable ethics they can definitely claim defamation. Stock photos from reputable sources have the model release.

As medialint mentioned.. be very careful. You don't necessarily need pictures of people to make your site look professional. You can create graphics that will add to your site, rather than worrying about having pictures of people. If you need a person's picture on your site, then get the model release form. Here's an example of one similar to what one of my photographer friends uses for his sites: Model Release Sample There are several sites that you can find out there that sell vector graphics that you can use and manipulate on your website to help give it that professional look that you're aiming for. I can post a link from one later that may help. Unfortunately, I don't have the link bookmarked on this computer. |

Good point on not necesarily needing a persons picture. I have a page where I talk about calling in to a call center. I thought a person at a call center would look good there. A nice happy face with a phone stuck to it.... (I'm sure they're always this happy
)So if I get pictures from a place like photos.com or something like that, I don't need a model release form right? It would be great if you could post the link you found to the vector graphics site. Thanks so much for your comments and help. Brad |

I go here for my web design resources:
http://www.bluevertigo.com.ar/bluevertigo.htm Look under STOCK PHOTOGRAPHY/FREE, you'll see links to a lot of sites that allow you to use their photos. The Stock.XCHNG is usually the first site that I check. |

Do you actucally get to see the model release form or are you taking someone's word for it? There's a HUGE difference, and ignorance is no defence.
