Policies/Terms & Conditions?
I am building an e-commerce store for a client of mine. This is the first time I have taken on this task.
I am almost done with the site and need to add a few pieces of content. Namely: 1. Privacy Policy 2. Data Security Capabilities 3. Terms and Conditions The first two I got as I believe they apply moreso to the technical aspect of what I am doing. The terms and conditions I am a little worried about. I don't feel that I am qualified to draft up something like this. I have instructed my client to consult with a lawyer about this. What is your take on providing these types of documents to your client in the context of e-commerce? |

You are a programmer, not a lawyer.
If you _must_ supply these documents (and I recommend that you refuse if you can) then copy them from an established site that operates in the same field and has a similar business model.

I would suggest to consult your lawyer as a small mistake in your TOS can put you in trouble.

Check out someone like www.compactlaw.co.uk better still as you are the geek not the lawyer get the client to sort it. Compact Law are specialists in e-commerce contracts etc.
In the UK your privacy policy needs backing up with registration under the Data Protection Act.
