Project Documentation

Hi,

Wanted to ask this question for a very long time. When working on a Project there are several documents that need to be written in the different stages of the project.

Is there any resource on the internet that describes what documents are outputed from each stage of the project and also has availability to download templates. I mostly refering to software projects, however do not mind to study different models for different projects.
