Promoting Web Design Business

Hello All,

I own my own Web Design business. We're relatively new and have had some success with word-of-mouth referrals, but sadly that's not enough to keep the business afloat. I want to start advertising, but I don't want to break the bank. I was wondering if any of you have any ideas that have worked for you in the past to drive business to your company. Thanks so much!

If you're willing to invest a few hundred $$ per month into your business, I recommend locally-targeted pay-per-click ads on google using search terms that your customers might use to locate someone like you. Make sure you're on the first page when the search terms are used, but not necessarily the first listing (since those get clicked by the curious and not the motivated).

Then there's the online directories, of which I have one, that are organized by both services offered and location (so that you're not grouped in with people from other countries). Those will also get you a decent number of responses if you are good at formulating a marketing message.

So far I know some of their customers are always asking for web design service.

create a business directory site for your local region...offer free links to local business's web sites...

...every business that does not already have web site is a potential client...
