Regarding Cybersquatters
I recently received a request from a person to re-design an old webpage for them. However they have let their domain names expire and have since gone to what I am assuming is cybersquatters. Is there any ammunition to avoid having to shell out hundreds of dollars?
This site is not for a business but for a non-profit dog rescue organization. Just wondering if anyone has any experience and/or insight into this WONDERFUL issue. I read up on some trademark laws, and will pursue legal counsel if necessary, but thought that I would people that might know first. Thanks guys.

Domain Search
Quote:
Have you done a domain search on the web to see if something comes up and have you checked the whois directory to see who owns the domain name? I'd do some background work to see how much traffic the domain gets. Maybe it's for sale or can be put on backoder at at domain registration company |

Also,
I have seem many cases where the domain name is not really being cybersquatted. You may no longer have access to the domain, and the page that comes up may appear like an advertisement, But if you contact the registration company that originally registered the domain for your client, you may find, it has just been hijacked by a redirect rather than truly purchased., |
