Sales distribution of your niche product

I've had a look at some marketing firms in the past, but i always think they tend to focus on branding strategies rather than actual sales channels and distributions for your product.

i.e. getting you in touch with the right people who can help push your product to the consumer.

On the other hand, you can hire sales staff, but this can be a huge investment especially for the business the size of mine (which is tiny).

I currently have 2 products, that i want to sell into the market. I know there are no other products that exist, of this kind in the market at the moment, or at least im very confident that what i have had developed has not been done before (in the UK at least).

Im currently employed full-time, and until sales of my software allow me to quit my full-time job, i need to stick with it.

The dilemma is, who should i be approaching to manage the sales distribution of my product?
Im not talking marketing and branding here, as im pretty good at that myself. I created my own website, have my own logos etc, and do a good job of copywriting. I can do a good job of sales brochures etc.Im talking getting in touch with the people who can get the product out on to consumers PC.

Where should i look for someone like this?

I would develop a strategy and do this myself, but cant to afford to quit my full-time position as i need a steady income for now, but sure im not the first person to be in such a position?

There must be some sort of firm, or certain trade magazines or something where people specialise in launching niche products out onto the market. Ideally i want to be an internet only business , it'll save me on-site support visits etc.

Does anyone have any ideas please?
Of course it would have to be the type of company/person which is willing to invest time in understanding the 2 products that i have, and what my product is capable of doing for the customer......oh and did i fail to mention i have a shoestring budget?

Any direction, advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated

Well I guess this all really depends on what your product is. First of all I think you should protect it if possible, patent it or something.

Im going to implement some security measures of course. Manage the way the software is distributed etc, but i dont see the point in patenting it. With the amount of money this can cost, the legal issues involved and the time it takes i just dont see the point.
I personally think that if i can get the software on as many desks as possible in a short period of time, i.e get my foot in the door, there'll be no room for anyone else unless they produced something that was twice as good.
