Shared selling of programs ??
Hello,
I will soon develop a program together with someone else (best of both worlds). The idea is to sell it together too. However, I was wondering what the best way would be to do such 'shared' selling without getting lost in mutual distrust. I do not think that we can create a share paypal account for this, but maybe there are other ways, systems with which we can set up a shared, secure selling system ? Any of you did this before ? Thanks for any info... |

join together to form a partnership. open an account in the name of the partnership. i dont know if paypal allows this, but every and any bank will.
you have to draw up a profit sharing deed for the partnership (certain other things also need to be covered in the partnership deed). if you intend on developing more programs with the same gy then is a good way to start. if you intend to provide after sales support and service it will assist you. further more it will also cover risk, in the sense that any risk borne will be shared in the ratio of the partneship. I feel a good legal base is vital for any business venture. if you dont want to ruin your friendship, this is the way to go. it may also be possible to draw up a profit sharing agreement without a partnership.. but i would not reccomend that because that would not give the solution to your bank problems. it would give you a legal ground to sue one another if things did go wrong ![]() see a lawyer about these things. i personally feel a partnership is the way to go. there are lots of adv's to this route but i dont have the patience to type em all up. good luck dude ![]() ps: if you still cant resolve these issues, then get a thrid party (i suggest myself here) to open a paypal account and make all your clients pay into that account. then have the thrid party share the cash out fairly. i could do this for you. i'm trustworthy like that ![]()

Or if you are selling the software online you could have the money alternating which account it goes into. e.g.
Customer 1 buys software. Money earnt goes into partner 1's account. Customer 2 buys software. Money earnt goes into partner 2's account. And it carries on like that.

Part of it may depend on what you plan to do with the money. Do you want to use it as capital for a future venture? Just split it and let each do what they wish?
However you work out the particulars, do it in writing. Draw up a contract and make sure both parties keep copies of the sales history.
