Now with digg and reddit going downhill, lot's new user news media sites are coming like www.pageranked.com great one way links, fast submissions.

Sorry, Digg was my favorite site. Just so bumbed now that my only other option is reddit which I hate worst.

Also note that there are restrictions on number of people you can follow in a particular day and you can't keep following people unless you get sufficient followers

It is really easy to follow someone on Twitter. And you'll be surprised how often they decide to follow you as well. In fact, I have lots of people in the marketing and PR worlds following me. In my opinion, this is a way easier way to connect with influential people in the media than calling and emailing them.

IMO you should choose attractive title and descriptions for your links and then submit them to famoud social bookmarking or social networking sites like Digg, reddit and ... . In this case you reach to your goal. And i think there are no other secrets.
