SSL and payment services

hi folks,

i will offer a small assortment of chocolates on my website. i want to utilize cubecart (php based), since it is very customizable and i don't want my design to break it also works well with paypal and others .... that leads me to the question:
what do you guys think of paypal as payment service? i can use them to process the online orders and also to take CC numbers by fax/phone/email a.s.o. ... sounds great to me does anyone have experience with them (as a merchant)? how do they compare to others in fees and prices? did anyone go through this process yet? (i am located in the US btw)

How about SSL certificates? i know VeriSign is great, but they are pretty pricey too. GoDaddy.com offers much cheaper SSL protection, but hey, they just don't look that trysty .... do you have any recommandations on this?

So I guess this is what i need .... webstore -> paypal via SSL and thats it right?

Seems almost too easy :-D

Let me know what you think and if you have any tips or experience with above situation, don't be shy and let me know

ssl and paypal

Paypal is easy is use and very convenient. I have looked around at other online sites to accept credit cards, and paypal seems to be the best for the price since their reputation is much more well known. There are the occasional people that seem to get screwed by paypal, but I've been using them for several years on all of my businesses with no problems. As far as SSl, just look around.. verisign is one of the more expensive ones. I have ssl certs through securepaynet

kaskudoo agrees: thx - i think i will try paypal and i'll have a look at securepaynet

If you are looking for a cheaper ssl check out http://www.rapidssl.com/index_ssl.htm

You can purchase an ssl for one domain from them for $69. They are DotNetPark.com's ssl of choice. I have installed one myself and have no problems.
