Terms and Conditions

Hey all,

I recently started a dating website and need to construct a terms and conditions/terms of use document. I was wondering if anyone had any examples or experience with generating one of these for such a site and anything I need to add in and be careful of. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks for that, does this document have to be produced by lawyers. Or just smart to make sure your fully covered by most aspects of the law?

I think you should consult your lawyer for that.

It doesn't have to be, but is wise to be produced by a lawyer. Most business lawyers have template forms that they can send you (if you pay for the initial 1 hour consultation). As all states have different laws, having someone send you a TOC may not be as useful to you, if for example, you're in CA, and someone else is in FL.

For any business related forms, you should always consult a lawyer to make sure you're covered against everything.

Thanks guys, appreciate the recommendations. Making an appointment with my lawyer this week. I was just concerned with any things I should be worried about. I heard about cases where users uploaded group photos and people pressed charges because some people in the photo didn't give consent for the image to be up.

Thanks again.

Hey Doush, from where do you have got the idea of starting a dating website? It’s good to know that finally you have managed a lawyer fro yourself. Just going through your posting! You have got some good suggestion. My opinion is that always stick to your lawyer line. Now-a-days there are lots of trouble and scams going on through dating sites. So be careful about your business. Best of luck!

Legal attorney.

Got some serious lines from Daniel007... Its true that scams are going online through dating sites. But still laws have implemented to protest it. So by taking the help of your legal attorney you can manage all your business criteria's in a customized manner.

Thanks Daniel007, started a business some time ago. We have several ideas for sites and the dating site seemed to be the easiest and would set us up cash flow wise to create the other sites. It hasn't been easy to begin with but its just started to grow at a phenomenal rate. And because of this we want to make sure there is no loop holes.

Santana001 yeah its something that you have to be weary about. And the right plan of action is to see my lawyer.

Thanks everyone.
