There are many factors that need to be taken into account. Are you selling the content? The domain name? The server its own? Everything? Is there a niche market for this type of stuff?

I think most domains are a tough sell these days, existing content and traffic being not much of a factor unless you're a major industry. Everyone and their puppy has a domain in this modern world. Your domain name is not particularly catchy or memorable nor is the content unique. A grilled cheese sandwich is only worth $60,000 if someone is willing to pay that for it, after all. The harder you try to find a buyer and the better your sales pitch, the more it will be worth.

the same game domain is in the name.
If kodak or fuji or whatever doesn't already have such a site, you might pitch it to them. Generally continuing an already established community might interest corporations with complimentary products. How about photo magazine sites? Surely there is one in the tons out there looking for a blog to call their own? Best domain buy-out I can think of this second:: Potato Growers Association (PGA) bought out by that other PGA btw, yes I think ebay sold a cheese sandwich that had the face of the virgin mary on it for $$$$, so you could get lucky. You might offer it to another company that may coincidentially have the same name as the site, but that's about it. I think photo-mags would be a better fit. cheers sf2k |
