What's the difference: partners vs affiliate program?

Can someone please tell me, what's the difference between a web site's partners program & affiliate program? You're comments would be appreciate. Thank you.

With partner program you have to involve some money whilst with affiliate program you have to give only link to their site which will generate you a kick back to the referral. Partner program are very time consuming whilst affiliate program is less time consuming. Partner program are the more beneficial then affiliate program.

A lot of people are scared off by the "affiliate" tag, so a lot of places that I've seen use "partner" instead when it is really an affiliate program, but the terminology sounds friendlier.

hxiong, if you're concerned about a program, read it's terms & conditions. They will have some. That should answer everything that you want to know. If not, then contact the company. Every one is different and ever one likes to do things their own way.
