Where to find copyright/disclaimer for selling a product?
Hi!
How do I find an appropriate copyright/disclaimer for a product I will be start selling soon. Like : I cannot be held responsible for any misfortunes caused by XXX product... Is it legal to just copy a disclaimer that any other selling site has that suits my site and product? And if I alter that text, what happens? Thank you for your help. |

Contact a lawyer.

I make my own jargon up most of the time, but I have little to fear as far as legal reprimand. Phrases such as "including but not limited to" are standard fare, there's no clearer legal way to say exactly that. If you are in business, you should have a lawyer anyway. Along with an accountant. If your product is magic beans or other such farmerpseudocals then you should probably dodge it in favor of a more wholesome enterprise. Generally a "not responsible for" disclaimer indicates an expectation that bad things sometimes happen from using whatnot product ... ?

Then I think you could get away with writing your own blurb.
This script is written by Joe and is provided without warranty, etc, etc ... |

Copying someone elses text is deffinately a violation of federal copyright laws.
I agree that you should contact a lawyer that is experienced in this area. |
